Hopefully everyone made it through the snow and very cold temperatures without any big issues. The good thing about Oklahoma is nothing lasts too long, we just have to wait it out. With this warmer weather and beautiful sunshine people will be getting out of the house more. Please watch for children playing, joggers, walkers, and all around people in the streets not just in this neighborhood but all over town. When driving please be mindful of your speed and of your surroundings. Thank you for caring for others!
City of Stillwater Request
The City of Stillwater is requesting that we all do our part to keep the heaters going by conserving power. Please follow the simple guidelines they suggest here https://www.stwnewspress.com/news/update-stillwater-and-other-power-providers-ask-for-power-conservation-warn-of-possible-outages/article_97ec2b40-6f1d-11eb-bc24-d3836ffa82c1.html
Let’s all stay warm and check on our friends, family, and neighbors.
Ice Ice Baby
It’s been a year of ice and snow now we’re seeing very cold temperatures and possibly even more snow. With the below freezing temperature our beautiful lake starts to freeze. Even though it looks strong enough to stand on it isn’t. Please keep your family safe by keeping your children, pets and yourself off the lake.
Stay warm and check on your neighbors.
Growth Happens
Today is when we say goodbye. It’s hard to lose a tree especially one as loved as this one is. Unfortunately, it wasn’t surviving and leaving it to rot isn’t a good option. The timing was rough with so many other trees damaged from the ice storm. We will be leaving the stump in hopes that new growth will spring from it’s roots. We also are having a bench made from its trunk so that we will continue to enjoy it in its new form.
Did you know…
Did you know the lake is a common area for all home owners or renters to enjoy? It is maintained by the HOC through the dues paid by the home owners. What a great place to relax, do some catch and release fishing, or watch the sunrise or sunset.
Did you know at certain times a year we have had bald eagle sightings at our lake? We are fortunate to have this area for enjoying wild life and relaxing.
If you are interested in knowing more about the lake and it’s care or have any questions about projects that the HOC is working on please contact us at Universityestateswoodcrest@gmail.com or through the contact page on this site.
For a laugh or two
How does a homeowners association tell time?
– by it’s neighborhood watch.
Newsletters
Our homeowners cooperation will be delivering newsletters door to door starting January 5. Newsletters have also be mailed to the owners that do not reside in our community. We would like to move away from paper copies of newsletters and invoices to start utilizing online services such as this website as well as email. This has been a slow transition but progress is being made.
We have also been utilizing the third party website “Nextdoor”. This site is a public site and all posts go out to anyone who belongs to the site within our town and beyond. It is helpful for many things such as lost and found pets and other items. The City of Stillwater also posts city wide news and updates to this site to help citizens stay informed.
While our website is also public it is geared more towards getting information relevant to our neighborhood out to you, our neighbors. We will do our best to keep this site up to date with new photos as well as items of interest as needed. Please bookmark this site for ease of access and check back periodically.
Welcome to the new HOC website
Hello Everyone!
We are excited to introduce the new website for the HOC. This website will be used to communicate news, events and activities of our HOC. In the future will also allow online payments of the HOC dues. Stay tuned.
